Our mission is to create a fun, fair and safe basketball environment that is focused on providing skills development as well as fostering respect for others, self-confidence, leadership and teamwork in our Elk River student athletes. We will strive to provide the best competition at all levels while maintaining the highest degree of participation and sportsmanship. Codes of Conduct The ERBYB Board has drafted Codes of Conduct for the key participants in our program: Player, Coach, and Parent. The Codes of Conduct are meant to serve as a guidelines for and expectations of all participants. Any violation of these Codes of Conduct will be dealt with immediately by the ERBYB Board. Please familiarize yourself with these documents, so we all have a common understanding of what we expect from each other while participating in the program. All participants in the ERBYB program will be asked to sign their name to the applicable Code of Conduct prior to participating. COACH BACKGROUND CHECKS All individuals who will be coaching a house or travel team for ERBYB will be required to complete a background screening PRIOR to the start of the first practice. This applies to both the head and assistant coach. All background checks are conducted through MYAS and include a checks through MN BCA; Social Security and National Sexual Predator Reports. ERBYB will only allow individuals to coach if they meet the following criteria: No felonies in the past 7 years. No criminal convictions of a serious nature including but not limited to: alcohol related, assaults, drugs or a series of convictions of a lesser nature which show a pattern of irresponsible behavior and lack of concern for basic rules, regulations and the safety and well being for others. | |||
